Putting your words of wisdom into action...maybe?

After we got off the phone I decided to try out what you said....here are a few! (I set it to 60 and left it) She is brutal to photograph..I need sports fast to actually get any shots. Guess its good practice.

Sorry, I haven't had time to post.

I downloaded the photos and checked your settings.

Your did great! Wasant that easy? set it at 60 or 80 and let the light do the rest?

Anyways, I think these are great shots. The one on top with Joshua out side is brilliant! Your timing is great in some of these. The shot where little sis is holding onto the windowsill is very nice.

There are some composition issues on a few but overall composition is good.

So if I was to "id" one main problem in all of these photos or at least most, it would be that they still seem soft.

What do you think? Now I know your 50mm lens isn't that soft, I also know that your settings are perfect. That only leaves on reason.

Its not the camera its you. I know, Harsh hu?

Hehe, what im getting at is, shooting children close up will be hard for you to do, forever! Its hard for me. Kids move and even if you have your shutter speeds right, guess what, your point of focus has to be timed perfectly. Some times you get it and some times you don't. The second from where you get your focus point and readjust for composition leaves room for that child to move closer or away and now your point of focus (PoF) is gone. You will get faster at this, there are other techniques and settings that you can use but I would not suggest trying them at this point.

When I see Willem doing something cute id say, hey Will show me what you got(so that I can get a cool shot) well guess what he does? He walks right at me, or even runs, and I don't care how good you are, thats hard to get right.

So don't be hard on your self, somethings are just going to take time.

Ok , how is that Depth of Field Test coming along? I did mine this morning, I will post them tomorrow.

Don't feel bad, I need and want the harshness!! I totally agree on the still softness and I know exactly what shots my composition is "not good". which BTW I know all this thanks to YOU!! I am learning a ton and its all at your hand! You are fantastic.

I for sure need a ton more help when it comes to kids. Lauren is so hard she is always ALWAYS moving and Joshua is so sick of the camera he wants to get away from me trying to snap one more shot. I can't wait to learn more and I for sure agree with letting me at least get the basics a little more :). You ROCK!

My depth of field is coming soon....I sure do love shooting ojects that DON'T MOVE :).
